BRUCE CONNELL
ARTIST

BRUCE CONNELL's art is hanging in homes all over the world. Having earned a degree in three-dimensional design from Reigate School of Arts and Crafts, early commissions included a church font at Christ the King Church in Salfords, Surrey and a large fibreglass frieze for a school building. He designed a "Lifeboatman" collection box, several of which were used by the independently-financed Clovelly lifeboat in North Devon.
He has worked as a portrait artist in Spain from where his work has reached a worldwide audience and is currently setting up his own atelier in Brittany where people will be able to view his paintings.
Now specialising in figure-work and seascapes, some of his paintings display almost photographic accuracy, but he has also developed a popular comic-book style of landscape. Bruce has recently been inspired by mountains, and has also been working on a looser technique in nude studies culminating in his latest monochrome nude sketches in red.
The studio in Brittany is still a work-in-progress but Bruce has exhibited his most recent French-inspired landscapes in Gueméné-sur-Scorff, in Morbihan and at the Salad Centre in Boscombe, Dorset.
